Tom Dobrez
Tom Dobrez has been national and he has been local. Tom was intricate to the establishment of StateNets, the marketing and sales representatives of the National Association of State Radio Networks (NASRN). For nearly three decades, he led the state network industry working with major broadcasters like Learfield Communications, iHeart, CBS and dozens of others. Tom help major national advertisers like Dodge, State Farm and Geico produce regional marketing campaigns that supported small market rural radio. In 2000, Tom was recognized by the political ad community for his contributions and was recently honored with the Vision of Success Award from NASRN. To this date he is the only recipient of the award.
As an RAB Board of Directors member, he had a front row seat to developments shaping the radio industry and in 2001 got in knee deep with his purchase of a number of radio stations in the Colorado resort towns of Vail, Aspen and Steamboat Springs. The Vail Valley Foundation recognized Tom and his radio station team with the Small Business of the Year Award.
In early 2019 Tom purchased the assets of Stream My Station and started Cool Radio Streaming. CRS provides efficient streaming services to hundreds of small to medium size markets in the country. He is a current board member of the Radio Vendor Alliance. An alliance of radio vendors supporting local and small market radio broadcasters.
In 2023, Tom authored a memoir called Root Root Root for the Home Teams- A Chicago Fan’s Odyssey to Find the Meaning of Life Through Sports.
